Sometimes, when I write, I get my ideas less from things or people or events, but more from feelings. I have a whole playlist on iTunes devoted to songs that make me feel something beyond words. Songs that, when I listen to, I feel this desire to create something with words that goes beyond letters on a screen or ink on a page. Something that, when people read it, they feel things they can’t explain. A co-mingled mess of sadness and beauty, happiness and tears, bitter and sweet.

That’s why I write.
